Abstract:Background: Predicting invasiveness requires understanding the propensity of a given species to thrive in areas with novel ecological challenges. The Australian redback spider, Latrodectus hasselti, a widow spider native to Australia and established in Japan, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.
