Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine in Indian Settings: Need of the Hour

Abstract: Cervical cancer is a major public health challenge accounting for a fifth of the global incidence and mortality. India has a population of 432.20 million women aged 15 years and above who are at risk of developing cervical cancer. The factors leading to high prevalence of cervical cancer in India are many. The high mortality due to the disease is mainly due to lack of awareness and absence of organized screening programs.
