Abstract: The purpose of the experiment, which had ethical committee approval, was to investigate for the first time the effect of carbohydrate (CHO) ingestion on post-exercise glycogen resynthesis, measured simultaneously in human liver and skeletal muscle, and subsequent exercise capacity.
