HuR Promotes the Differentiation of Goat Skeletal Muscle Satellite Cells by Regulating Myomaker mRNA Stability

Abstract: Human antigen R (HuR) is an RNA-binding protein that contributes to a wide variety of biological processes and diseases. HuR has been demonstrated to regulate muscle growth and development, but its regulatory mechanisms are not well understood, especially in goats. In this study, we found that HuR was highly expressed in the skeletal muscle of goats, and its expression levels changed during longissimus dorsi muscle development in goats. The effects of HuR on goat skeletal muscle development were explored using… Show more

“…Next, six mRNA-seq libraries (3 siNC and 3 siMETTL3 samples) generated 261,101,486 raw reads. Clean reads were obtained from raw reads, as described in previous studies [ 67 ]. Moreover, the Q30 value of all libraries was more than 92.39% ( Table S4 ).…”

“… 48 Human antigen R (HuR), an RNA binding protein, promotes the differentiation of goat MuSCs through enhancing the stability of myomakers. 49 Furthermore, the presence and content of Piezo1, NADPH oxidase 4 (Nox4), ten‐eleven translocation‐2 (Tet‐2), vitamin D, and drugs such as andrographolide are all associated with the expression of myomakers and/or myomergers, which affect myofiber fusion 50 , 51 , 52 , 53 , 54 , 55 (Table 1 ).…”
