The curriculum in business schools is multidisciplinary and includes a wide variety of subjects. Each subject has its own focus, content and methods. When students enter the workforce, however, they cannot solve problems and challenges using knowledge and skills from just one of these subjects. In order to participate in professional discussions, they will in addition need knowledge about how they can apply and integrate knowledge across subjects. In this paper, we report from an exploratory study of curricula in Norwegian bachelor programs in business schools. Our findings indicate a growing realization of the need to focus on students' comprehensive understanding of the subject area. However, it seems that the main focus still is on specialization within one of the subject areas.
