acting as a catalyst was studied. The effects of different parameters-the initial pH, the initial H 2 O 2 concentration, the mass of the catalyst, and the initial dye concentrationon the oxidation of the dye were investigated. The optimal conditions that led to maximum decolorization were found to be: pH 3, catalyst mass = 0.05 g, and [H 2-O 2 ] 0 = 0.03 mM for an initial dye concentration of 30 mg L -1 .
