Hybrid message conversion technique to reduce jitter in CAN based distributed embedded system

Abstract: Controller Area Network (CAN) can be employed toperform Real time operations in distributed system. Time bounded distributed task execution demands effective performance of different nodes in Real time systems. Performance of the task highly depends on reliable communication between node to node & control efficiency of the distributed system. CAN bus serial communication is capable to handle time bound operations of real time system. Continues evaluation of the parameters like real-time capability, message res… Show more

“…In contrast, the SBS -which can only be implemented using online approach -has the potential to reduce memory requirements in practical hardware designs, making it superior to EEM in many practical cases. Note that the abovementioned jitter-reduction techniques have been taken further by other researchers, and a set of modified versions as well as alternative techniques were presented to deal with jitter and clock synchronisation issues in CAN-based systems [20][21][22][23][24][25][26]. It is worth noting that CAN protocol still works well for many systems due to its profound roots in automotive industry besides its simplicity, low implementation costs and widespread availability [27].…”

“…Different industrial applications essentially require a reliable communication without data loss for smooth functioning and better control performance [11]. Distributed system Control efficiency depends on task Performance and reliable communication between measurement nodes and actuators [13]. Advanced Technology adoption in industrial field can improve productivity and quality of crop with less effort [14].…”
