Abstract:The electron-ion collision frequency is a key factor for simulations of the interaction process of ultrashort lasers with metals. In this paper, we propose a semiempirical method based on the Drude-Sommerfeld model for obtaining the electron-ion collision frequency over a wide temperature range, from solid-state to high-temperature plasma. Moreover, we performed a series of hydrodynamic simulations including the modified electron-ion collision frequency. The results indicated that the modified electron-ion col… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
