Abstract:This paper describes the corrosion behaviour of SiO 2 glass hollow fibres by hydrofluoric acid (HF). The decrease of corrosion rate after 6 h etching could be explained by the change of surface area and concentration of the HF solution. The small and positive DS implies that the decrease in disordering takes place due to the transformation of the amorphous glass phase to SiF 4 and Na 2 SiF 6 . The results show that many pit typed corrosion masks showed on the surface of the glass hollow fibres. The microflaws … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
