Hydrogenation and Dehydrogenation of Pentaphenylcyclopentadienes and Pentaphenylcyclopentenes

Abstract: Pentaaryl‐substituted cyclopentadienes and cyclopentenes have been employed in catalytic hydrogenation and photochemical cyclodehydrogenation reactions, targeting strained bowl‐shaped structures. Both types of reactions generally stop at the monohydrogenation and monocyclization stage, respectively.
