Hydrogenation of Cinnamaldehyde by Water‐Soluble Ruthenium(II) Phosphine Complexes: A DFT Study on the Selectivity and Viability of trans‐Dihydride Pathways
Abstract:Apart from the important trans-dihydrido-transition metal catalysts containing polydentate phosphine, diamine or pincertype ligands, the catalytic role of trans-dihydride complexes with monodentate ligands is generally neglected given their inferior thermodynamic stability compared to the cis isomers. This way however, a mechanistic investigation about selectivity loses important details as more prominent catalysts provide multiple competing pathways towards the desired product. Here, we used the hydrogenation… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
