“…This would be expected according to the theory of Glover et al (1947), who suggested that the alcohol form is in equilibrium with the liver vitamin A. A grazing cow ingests 24 r-blood and lymph (Glover et al 1947;Eden & Sellers, 1950;Thompson, Braude, Coates, Cowie, Ganguly & Kon, 1950) is concentrated into the milk secretion without first passing into the liver. That the fat content of the milk is many times more concentrated than blood serum is well known.…”

“…The variation in the total vitamin A of the same cow was mostly caused by changes in the amount of the esterified form. Eden & Sellers (1950) showed that the increase in plasma vitamin A after oral adminis-tration of the vitamin was all in the esterified form. The amount of the alcohol form of the vitamin remained unchanged.…”

“…Ion exchange in resins has been investigated as an equilibrium or kinetic phenomenon (104, HO, 141, 161, 225, 009) and as a statistical phenomenon (93). The hydrated resin may7 be treated as a solid solution (110,180) exhibiting the Donnan equilibrium phenomenon (65). Equilibria with resins have yielded dissociation constants of radium-organic acid complexes (34%) and have demonstrated the formation of colloids (radiocolloids) of zirconium and niobium (341).…”
