Hydromulches suppress weeds and maintain fruit production in organically managed strawberry systems

Abstract: Polyethylene (PE) mulches are widely used in strawberry (Fragaria×ananassa Duch) production for weed suppression and crop growth optimization. However, PE mulches are not biodegradable and contribute to plastic pollution.
