Hydrotalcite‐Supported Ceria Nanoparticles as a Heterogeneous Catalyst for One‐Pot Synthesis of Imines under Atmospheric Air

Abstract: Herein, we report a catalytic method for the one‐pot synthesis of imines from benzyl alcohols using air. The Ceria (CeO2) nanoparticles were supported on (HT, TiO2, SiO2, Al2O3) synthesised by Co‐precipitation in alcohol/water mixed solvents. The best catalytic activity was obtained with CeO2/HT for the oxidation of benzyl alcohols. CeO2/HT was investigated for oxidation and imines of various benzyl alcohols. Higher yield and a better reusability were observed under mild condition with air as oxidants.

“…TGA reports of HT‐LaMOFs exhibits characteristic three stage decomposition stages which possibly separated into three well‐differentiated main regions. At initially, the weight loss was observed between 80 and 250°C attributing to the removal of physically adsorbed water molecules on HT‐LaMOFs external surface 46,47 . Further, the second weight loss was observed between 250 and 600°C was ascribed to interlayer water molecule removal, decarbonation and dehydroxylation of the layers.…”

[39][40][41][42][43][44][45] Green chemistry metrics (GCM) is a calculation that connects a chemical process to green chemistry principles. GCM provides information on the efficiency or environmental performance of a chemical process and allows changes in performance to be measured.…”
