Abstract:Hydrothermal preparation of a transparent wide-gap conductor Cd3TeO6 from CdO, TeO2, H2O2, and alkali hydroxide was explored. The reaction without alkali hydroxide yielded only a small amount of Cd3TeO6, and NaOH gave a better yield than LiOH and KOH. The reactions without H2O2 did not form Cd3TeO6 at all. This observation indicated that H2O2 oxidized tellurium (IV) to the oxidation state VI in this system. The reactions at 240°C, the highest temperature available in this study, gave a better yield of Cd3TeO6 … Show more
The first example of both cation- and anion-ordered rutile-type derivative LiTeO3(OH) (= HLiTeO4) has been discovered. LiTeO3(OH) belongs to a non-centrosymmetric space group P21.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
