Hydroxyproline excretion in bovine puerperal paresis with special reference to bone resorption

Abstract: Summary Hydroxyproline excretion in 11 mature cows was observed over the last weeks prior to calving and immediately after it. Four of the animals developed hypocalcaemic paresis in conjunction with parturition or subsequent to it, the remaining seven being unaffected.
