Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: a modern view of the problem

Abstract: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common genetic heart disease, with a prevalence of approximately 1 in 500 among the adult cohort. It is a common etiological factor of sudden cardiac death in the young and a common cause of morbidity and mortality in all age groups.
