Hypocalcaemic tetany linked to vitamin D deficiency and hypomagnesemia in primary intestinal lymphangiectasia: a literature review

Ishwor Thapaliya,
Jeshika Yadav

Abstract: Primary intestinal lymphangiectasia (PIL) is a rare disorder in children causing protein-losing enteropathy. Vitamin D deficiency and hypomagnesemia contributed to the tetany. The literature review reflects the importance of screening for these deficiencies and regular serum magnesium monitoring in PIL cases with neuromuscular or ionic abnormalities.
