Achillea roseoalba – a long ignored relict in Germany

Abstract: Achillea roseoalba occurs in temporarily wet mea‐dows of the Schweinfurt area (Northern Bavaria, Germany), a well‐known relict area for continental thermophilous plants. The main population of A. roseoalba grows in a Cirsio tuberosi‐Molinietum arundinaceae. The Schweinfurt area is probably a relict area of a formerly more extended distribution area of A. roseoalba during the Boreal. (© 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
