I Am Aware of My Inconsistencies but Can Tolerate Them

Abstract: We examined how listeners characterized by empathy and a non-judgmental approach affect speakers' attitude structure. We hypothesized that high quality listening decreases speakers' social anxiety, which in turn reduces defensive processing.
