Aspidistra shangsiensis (Asparagaceae), a new species from Guangxi, China

Abstract:Aspidistra shangsiensis, a new species of Asparagaceae from southern Guangxi, China, is described and illustrated. The new species is similar to A. hainanensis in the flower color and shape, but differs by the leaf blade narrowly lanceolate, 28–45 × 4.0–6.5 cm, perianth lobes 8–10, stigma upper surface with fine radial grooves distally. This new species is only known from Shangsi County in Guangxi, China.
