Candida‐Identifizierung: Erfahrungen mit dem Vitek®‐Automaten

Abstract: We report about our experiences obtained with the Vitek system (bioMerieux, Nürtingen) for identification of 1160 clinical Candida isolates. The Vitek system correctly identified 1005 (86.6%) Candida isolates (probability > or = 85%): 776 (66.9%) strains were identified after 24 h of incubation, 229 (19.7%) required 48 h of incubation.
