H distributed frequency control with unknown communication delays and parametric uncertainties

Abstract: Summary This paper studies the distributed load frequency control problems for the multi‐area interconnected power system in smart grid. Compared with current results, we develop a new model transformation for traditional interconnected systems with unknown communication time delays and uncertainties. The load frequency control problem becomes the state synchronization problem of multi‐agent system (MAS) consisting of linear double‐integrator system with uncertainties and delays. Then, the H∞ distributed contr… Show more

“…In order to enhance the performance indices and to achieve robust frequency restoration in perturbed weak grids with a limited capacity of ESSs, a mixed H2H$H_{2}\slash H_{\infty }$ solution is developed in [9, 10]. Conventional and intelligent control solutions are also suggested in literature for LFC applications [11], where the solutions are mainly designed to find optimal selections of the inertial constant and damping coefficient in a feasible set. These coefficients are tuned by comparing and assessing between a normalized VSG fed by an ESS with a rotating mass synchronous generator (SG).…”

“…In [30], the stability of a hybrid MG using a fractional order fuzzybased PI controller is studied. Several classical and intelligent control schemes are also investigated for the MG control applications in [31][32][33], where authors have focused on optimal determining the inertial constant and the damping coefcient. Tese parameters are tuned conventionally by comparison and assessment between a normalized VSG with a rotating mass SG.…”
