HLA-B27 and not variation in MICA is responsible for genotype by sex interaction in risk of Ankylosing Spondylitis

Abstract: Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) is a highly heritable inflammatory arthritis which occurs more frequently in men than women. In their recent publication examining sex differences in the genetic aetiology of common complex traits and diseases, Bernabeu et al.
