“…For IL-10 (-592 C>A), comparison of genotype frequencies between CRC cases and healthy controls showed that carriers of the C/A genotype were negatively associated with CRC occurrence. This was consistent with the meta-analysis conducted in a Chinese population where it was stated that this variant was associated with a significantly reduced CRC risk [31]; similar findings were reported in an ethnic Kashmiri population where the carriers of the minor allele A were associated with a reduced CRC risk [40]. Conversely, two meta-analyses found no correlation [24,41].…”

“…Just three studies have measured IL-1β along with many other cytokines, and all found that IL-1β levels are elevated in patients with chronic HF compared with controls (8,9,18). In another study, L-1β was significantly higher in patients with ADHF compared with non-HF and control groups (19).…”

“…High-mobility group box protein 1 (HMGB1) and pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in the cortex and hippocampus of CCH mice induced by bilateral carotid artery stenosis (BCAS) have been reported to significantly increase ( 60 ). A clinical study found that the concentration of IL-1β in the serum of HF patients was higher than that of the non-HF and control groups ( 61 ). IL-1β, a pro-inflammatory cytokine, is an important factor driving inflammatory responses in the central nervous system ( 62 , 63 ).…”
