Abstract:Antibiotic-induced inflammation involves the release of myeloperoxidase (MPO), an enzyme whose expression in tissues is associated with the inflammatory pathway. However, existing methods for detecting MPO in cells are limited. In this study, a DNAzyme nanorobot was developed using a scaffold of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) decorated with functional DNAzyme strands and their fluorophore-labeled substrate strands. The DNAzyme remains inactive due to a self-assembled hairpin structure, with a phosphorothioate (PT)… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
