In situ polymerization approach to poly(arylene ether nitrile)-functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotube composite films: thermal, mechanical, dielectric, and electrical properties

Abstract: Poly(arylene ether nitrile) (PEN)-functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWNT) composites were successfully prepared via anin situpolymerization method based on the combination of nucleophilic aromatic substitution polymerization with simple acylate-functionalized MWNTs (MWNTs-COCl) in the presence of nitrile monomers. The structure and morphology of PEN-MWNT composites were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The improvement in the t… Show more

“…20 In view of the aforementioned properties, PEN can be promising candidate for preparing temperature-resistant polymer dielectric materials. In order to improve the dielectric constant, various inorganic nanoparticles including BaTiO 3 , 21,22 carbon nanotubes, 23 and graphene oxides 24 were incorporated into the PEN matrix, aiming at preparing the dielectric polymer composite films. For instance, Tang H.L.…”
