“…This result is in accordance with reported cases by Tewari et al, 24 who recorded an unusual case of a K. kristinae urinary tract infection, Kandi et al 22 and Wojno et al 25 This finding coincides with those of previous studies worldwide like Hassan et al 21 who reported the first case from Egypt with Kocuria kristinae bacteremia and Manzoor et al 19 who discussed a uncommon case of bacteremia caused by K. kristinae in a 46-year-old male patient. Also, Bernshteyn et al 16 presented a unique case report on community-acquired pneumonia and systemic bacteremia caused by K. kristinae in the USA. There is a study of infective endocarditis caused by K. rosea in a 10 year old immune competent female in Brazil by Moreira et al, 12 and Pierron et al 26 have described a case of catheter-related bacteremia with K. rhizophila in an 81 years old diabetic patient.…”

“…Here we present the rare case of pneumonia and bacteremia in an immunocompetent host caused by K. kristinae. 9 Although it is not so common and details of such organisms are not easily available, we expect our report may help to notify the possible pathogenic microorganism in commensal flora and the possibility of drug resistance. K. kristinae has been identified from various sites such as sputum, pus, blood, synovial fluid, bile, throat swab, peritoneal fluid, urine, and urinary catheters.…”
