Abstract:The laser beam profiles captured by CCD camera processed and analyzed by using 2D-graphic and displayed on the monitor. The analysis of the He-Ne profiles and laser diode profiles are presented. The results showed that the He-Ne laser emits a pure Gaussian beam, whereas the diode laser emits an elliptical beam shape. The laser beam profile analysis developed to study the intensity distribution, the laser power, number of modes and the laser beam, these parameters are quite important in many applications such as the medical, industrial and military. The analysis of the image profile can be used in determination the distance of the objects depending on the distribution of the spot contours of the laser beam with its width. As well as it can be used to capturing images to the objects and determining their distance and the shape of the objects.

Thermal effects in femtosecond laser ablation of metals

With recent advances in ultrafast laser technology, ablation using femtosecond laser pulses has found a wide range of applications. It is widely believed that ablation using femtosecond lasers has many unique advantages compared to longer-pulse ablation. One of the most significant features is believed to be that a negligible amount of energy should remain in the sample following ablation because the deposited heat does not have enough time to travel into the bulk sample during the femtosecond laser pulse. In this paper, we discuss our new findings on thermal effects in femtosecond laser ablation of metals. In contrast to the previous common belief, we find that a significant amount of residual thermal energy is deposited in metal samples following multi-shot femtosecond laser ablation. We further discuss how the absorptance of metals depends on the structural modifications. Lastly, we discuss the formation of periodic surface structures on metals induced by femtosecond laser pulses.

Laser optical double resonance and efficient infrared quantum counter upconversion in LaCl3 : Pr3+ and LaF3 : Pr3+In this paper, we outline a novel method for the determination of oscillator strengths in rare·earth crystals. This method involves the observation of fluorescence resulting from a sequential two-photon excitation process. The rate equations are analyzed and a simple linear relationship between the laser flux, the fluorescent intensity, and the oscillator strength is derived. The equations are applied to LaCl j :Pr3+ and the resulting oscillator strength measured for the 3 H6 -+ 3 PI transition is found to be in good agreement with the value measured by conventional absorption techniques. One advantage of the present method is the elimination of the need to determine the dopant concentration. Now it is clear from (10) that the oscillator strength for the sH e -s P 1 transition can be obtained by plotting pZrl vs P. In such a plot, a can be eliminated and if T1 is
