Litpos - A Part of EUPOS®

Abstract: Abstract. LitPOS (Lithuanian Positioning System), the network of permanent reference GNSS stations, became operational in July 2007. It provides data both for real-time and post-processing applications. LitPOS stations cover the whole territory of Lithuania. Total number of GNSS stations is 25, therefore the integration of some stations of neighbouring countries is foreseen. It is possible on the basis of cooperation in EUPOS® project. The European Position Determination System (EUPOS®) project is an initiativ… Show more

“…It combines a network of base GNSS stations with dedicated communication channels and appropriate hardware and software. LitPOS permanent reference stations provide data for real-time and post-processing applications and cover the whole territory of Lithuania [47]. This method was used for setting up known points and estimating the quantities of stockpiles volumes for later comparison with UAV-based photogrammetric approaches.…”

“…For real-time services it is sufficient to enter in the receiver software appropriate options such as the port number of the selected service and the username and password obtained by registering each user of the system. In Europe, there are many similar systems [Parseliunas E. et al 2007]. The themes of the technical details of the construction of similar networks and their applications can also be found in many references [Brockmann E. 2009], [Habrich H. 2007], [Hirt C. 2011].…”

“…Others based their EUPOS Geodetic subservice on their own computational algorithms (e.g., Active Geodetic Network-EUPOS [ASG-EUPOS] in Poland). Accuracies possible thanks to real-time corrections in individual national positioning systems have been studied extensively [6][7][8][9][10][11]. Still, there are no publications on the determination of the accuracy, precision, and repeatability of the solutions offered by the APPS sub-services in individual national systems.…”
