“…In more recent research by Dessein and Nevens (2007), the question of pride among farmers in Flanders is examined across a wide range of values in three categories: (1) those that relate to the characteristics and endeavours of the farmer as an individual (2) those that reflect the meaningful relations the farmer or the family have developed in social networks (3) those concepts which influence the farmer's pride but that are beyond the control of the individual.
