“…Note that the discrepancy for Ln = Sm (the experimental value of effective moment is much bigger than the theoretical one) is frequently seen, which is due to low-lying excite states with different J from the ground states. 30 We found that the T c value in RbLn 2 Fe 4 As 4 O 2 remains unchanged (within ± 0.1 K), irrespective of sample's purity. This fact suggests that RbLn 2 Fe 4 As 4 O 2 is a line compound which bears the same hole-doping level of 25%, similar to the case in 1144-type superconductors.…”

“…The uniaxial anisotropy field is also reduced for Al 30 Ga 70 As(001), indicating a stronger uniaxial magnetic anisotropy in structures with GaAs(001). The reason for the difference in reversal-mechanism may be explained due to the surface corrugation: one may calculate a Néel-type domain-wall width 30 of D ∼ 150 nm for these Co 40 Fe 40 B 20 films: it seems reasonable that the substrate surface corrugation is able to influence domain-walls for Co 40 Fe 40 B 20 on Al 30 Ga 70 As(001), where D ∼ ξ. Fortuitously, the orientation of the surface corrugation relative the the easy-axis of the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy allows step-edge anisotropies also to be ruled out as contributory factors in determining the magnetic anisotropy 56 . Indeed, the only mechanism which may plausibly explain both the direction and magnitude of the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy is the interface-interaction between ferromagnetic metals and III-V(001) semiconductors; despite the lack of crystal symmetry in the Co 40 Fe 40 B 20 films.…”

“…Kipferl et al compared the 'Bloch-3/2 law' spin-wave parameters 30 for Fe films epitaxially deposited on GaAs(001) and Au(001), finding a smaller depolarization due to thermal spin-waves in Fe/GaAs(001) as a consequence of the additional magnetic anisotropy contribution from the interfacial uniaxial magnetic anisotropy 60 . 63 .…”

“…9) for the three samples, measured at 2.5 mT show a similar response to that expected for a superparamagnetic nanoparticulate system, though the FC data appearing to saturate as temperature is lowered. The individual blocking temperatures (T B ) vary between samples, as indicated in Table 3, which might be expected for nickel nanoparticles with differing sizes as T B ∝ V where V is the volume of the superparamagentic particle [23]. However, PXRD data suggest that sample 1 has the smallest particle size, with sample 2 the next largest and sample 4 the largest; the blocking temperatures do not follow this trend.…”

“…where α = 100 and τ 0 = 10 −9 s [23]. We used values of V from both PXRD (Scherrer equation) data and also deduced from the mean magnetic moments which are obtained fitting a Langevin function to M vs. H data at 290 K, which will be explained later.…”
