Abstract:We describe the synthesis and computational investigation of N‐heterocycle‐substituted hexa‐peri‐hexabenzocoronenes (HBCs). Following our method for the preparation of thioether‐substituted HBCs, we prepared pyrrole‐, indole‐, carbazole‐, and 1H‐benz[g]indole‐substituted HBCs from the corresponding fluorinated precursors under microwave irradiation. A series of polysubstituted benzoindole‐HBCs with windmill architectures was also synthesized using the polyfluorinated HBC analogs. Due to the circular arrangemen… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
