PρTx Measurements for Gas-Phase Pentafluoroethane + Propane Mixtures by the Burnett Method

Abstract: In some refrigeration-based applications, hydrocarbons (HCs) are expected to be promising long-term alternative refrigerants because of their zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and negligible global warming potential (GWP) values. But there exists a serious disadvantage that they are flammable. Despite their flammability, however, commercial demands for HCs are increasing not only in several European countries but also in southeast Asia. On the other hand, the flammability is considered a major issue in U.S.… Show more

“…VLE data for binary systems of HFC-152a (1) + n-butane (2) were measured at six temperatures between (273.15 and 323.15) K using a circulation-type equilibrium apparatus. The experimental data were correlated with the PR EOS using the Wong-Sandler mixing rules and the CSD EOS.…”

“…Azeotropic mixtures have merits since their behaviors are similar to pure compounds. However, few experimental data have been reported previously in the literature [1][2][3].…”

“…Experimental data for density of the selected zeotropic mixtures are available for propane/isobutane. Kayukawa and Watanabe [73] examined the liquid density at constant temperature depending on pressure for three mixture compositions. Figure 5b shows the liquid density for 26.85 °C as a function of mixture composition and pressure.…”

“…This system shows strong positive azeotropes for the full temperature range studied here. According to the results of this work, the PR-EOS gave better correlation results than the CSD-EOS for propane (1) + HFC-227ea (2).…”

“…VLE data for binary systems of propane (1) + HFC-227ea (2) were measured at five equally spaced temperatures between (273.15 and 323.15) K using a circulation-type equilibrium apparatus. The experimental data were correlated with the PR-EOS using the Wong-Sandler mixing rules and the CSD-EOS.…”
