Paenibacillus

Abstract: Pae.ni.ba.cil'lus. L. adj. paene almost; bacterial name Bacillus ; N.L. masc. n. Paenibacillus almost a bacillus. Firmicutes / “Bacilli” / Bacillales / “Paenibacillaceae” / Paenibacillus Rod‐shaped cells of Gram‐positive structure, but usually stain variable or negative in the laboratory. Oval endospores are formed that distend the sporangium . Motile by means of peritrichous flagella… Show more

“…The general features of the genome of strain IB182363 T are listed in Table S1. The G+C content of the genome DNA was 54.5 mol%, which is within the range of 40–59 mol% reported for the genus Paenibacillus [38], and was higher than that of P. ginsengarvi DSM 18677 T (48.1 mol%) but lower than that of P.…”

“…Total DNA from the pooled cells was extracted and the identification was determined through 16S rDNA analysis by NGS. Bacterial genera found in the sample shown in Figure 3 belong to the phylum Firmicutes and are environmental [ 53 , 54 , 55 , 56 , 57 ]. They are Gram-positive, halotolerant, aerobic, or facultative anaerobic and spore-forming.…”
