H aloimpatiens

Abstract

Ha.lo.im.pa'ti.ens. Gr. n. hals , halos salt; L. adj. impatiens intolerant; N.L. masc. n. Haloimpatiens salt‐intolerant. Firmicutes / Clostridia / Clostridiales / Clostridiaceae / Haloimpatiens Haloimpatiens is a genus in the family Clostridiaceae . The genus currently has only one validated species, Haloimpatiens lingqiaonensis . The cells of H . lingqiaonensis are chemoorganotrophic rods that can ferment only on complex proteinaceous compounds. This strictly anaerobic bacterium can grow in mildly thermophilic (up to 48°C) and neutral pH conditions. The cells do not require NaCl for growth. No isoprenoid quinone is detected. The main fatty acids are C 14 :0 and C 16 :0 . The major polar lipids are diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, several phospholipids, and glycolipids. Although the only species was isolated from paper mill waste water, phylogenetically related environmental sequences revealed that the potential members in the genus Haloimpatiens can also be found in soils and feces.
