THE THEORY OF [COMPETITIVE] PRICE ACCORDING TO GEORGE J. STIGLER

Abstract: This notation will be used throughout the paper to indicate first, the book being referred to and next, the page number. Stigler called his 1952 edition a ''revised edition'' and so the 1966 edition became the third edition and the 1987 text the fourth edition. To avoid confusion, we refer to the editions as ''books,'' so (Stigler 3) will refer to the third book, which is the 1952 edition.
