Abstract: A solvated palladium(II) complex bearing a planar chiral ferrocenyl pyrrolo­imidazolyl­idene (NHC) ligand, synthesized by oxidative addition of a chloro­imidazolium salt to Pd(PPh3)4, features a pendant thio­ether group that is not involved in coordination to Pd.
