“…It is rapidly metabolized in the liver to noribogaine, its active metabolite with a long half-life in the blood of about 28-49 h [ 5 - 7 ]. At low doses (5 mg/kg body weight), ibogaine has a mild stimulant effect [ 8 ]; when used in higher doses, it produces psychedelic effects, including hallucinations and altered states of consciousness such as an intense dream-like state while awake [ 8 , 9 ].
