ICIC: A Dual Mode Intra-Cluster and Inter-Cluster Energy Minimization Approach for Multihop WSN

Abstract: Energy minimization is one of the paramount issues in designing of the wireless sensor network and becomes more complex for multi-hop transmission. Furthermore, selection of multi hop route for the packets transmission is also a tedious task. In this paper, we propose an intra-cluster and inter-cluster (ICIC) energy minimization strategy for multihop wireless sensor network (WSN). In the proposed strategy, in intra cluster communication, a dynamic duty cycle allocation based on the cluster head (CH) node dista… Show more

“…1 WSN technology was originally designed for military applications but nowadays it is used commonly in health care, wildlife, industrial, home automation and civil applications and so forth. 2 A widely used approach for energy minimization is clustering wherein a network is divided into comparatively small sized networks called clusters.…”

“…In the literature [8], a real-time lightweight dynamic clustering algorithm (LDCA) is proposed, which is suitable for mobile base stations and fixed sensor nodes. Besides, the literature [9] proposed *wei_wei@cqu.edu.cn; phone 18696667938 an intra-cluster and inter-cluster energy minimization algorithm (ICIC) for multi-hop wireless sensor networks, which minimizes energy and reduces the number of dead nodes.…”
