Abstract:In Peru, the largest organic banana producing area is the Chira Valley. However, the high incidence of the damage known as "Red Rust" in bananas causes economic losses to small producers. This study aimed to taxonomically identify the species that causes this damage. Collections were made in organic banana farms in Huangalá, Querecotillo and Salitral.
