Abstract:Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are byproducts of metabolic processes such as respiration and photosynthesis in plants. Production of ROS leads to rapid cell damage, and plants developed a complex system of enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants to scavenge these ROS.
