“…A general problem with the powder X-ray diffraction method has been its relative insensitivity: thus it normally has not been suitable for low concentrations or, to a lesser extent, for very small samples. The need for a method to identify and analyze for components in airborne particulates has led to increased activity in the development of methods which would improve the sensitivity of the technique (17,145,207,232,266,379).
