Identification and Validation of Aging-Related Genes in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

Abstract: Aging plays a significant role in the occurrence and development of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). In this study, we aimed to identify and verify potential aging-associated genes involved in IPF using bioinformatic analysis. The mRNA expression profile dataset GSE150910 available in the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database and R software were used to identify the differentially expressed aging-related genes involved in IPF. Hub gene expression was validated by other GEO datasets. Gene ontology (GO) enr… Show more

“…For example, Xiao et al 40 Chen 41 established an ARG signature for lung adenocarcinoma prognosis. Apart from cancers, the importance of ARGs in non-cancerous diseases also gained considerable attention, such as Alzheimer's disease, 42 pulmonary fibrosis, 43 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. 44 However, bioinformatics analysis of ARGs in CVD has not yet been conducted, and the of essential ARGs in the pathogenesis of CVD has not been confirmed.…”

“…Apart from cancers, the importance of ARGs in non-cancerous diseases also gained considerable attention. Such as, asthma ( Yang et al, 2021 ), pulmonary fibrosis ( He and Li, 2022 ), and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( Du et al, 2019 ). However, bioinformatic analysis of ARGs in AD has not yet been performed, and crucial ARGs involved in the pathogenesis of AD are not confirmed.…”
