Abstract:Salmonella Typhimurium and its monophasic variant (Salmonella 4,[5],12:i:-) are classified into nine clades. Clade 9 is composed of ST34 strains, including the Salmonella 4,[5],12:i:- European clone, which has rapidly disseminated in humans and animals worldwide since the 2000s.
