Abstract: Background Metabolic syndrome (MetS) consists of risk factors (abdominal obesity, hypertriglyceridemia, low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL–C), hypertension, hyperglycemia) for cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
