“…With modified versions, del Marmol & Neve de Mevergnies (171,172) and Tomlinson & Hurdus (173) have directly observed the fission products 2.0sec 85.8 6As and 1.7-sec 1 35Sb. Other groups have decomposed antimony hy dride in liquid absorbents (174)(175)(176) or have produced it by reduction with sodium borohydride (176).…”

“…Ge and Sn hydrides were also formed by the electrolytic method [6] and a slight amount of Ge by the zinc method [5], In a recent study of short-lived As isotopes isolated by the zinc method, a weak Se contamination was observed [7]; this could be avoided by passing the hydride gas mixture over NaOH pellets, which stopped the HaSe as well as appreciable amounts of the As and Sb hydrides. The present experiments show that it is sufficient to bubble the hydride gas mixture through water, to keep selectively in solution about 25% of the original selenium.…”
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
