“…When the reactivity of 2,6-diisopropylphenol was examined with the 1,4-dienones 1a, 1b and 1c, we were pleased to observe that the reactions have undergone smoothly even in presence of bulky iso-propyl groups and gave the desired products in 84, 87 and 82% yields respectively (Table 2, entries 4-6).
