ABSTRACTHypoxia is a hallmark of most solid tumors. In response to hypoxic stress tumor cells adapt by regulating survival, metabolism and angiogenesis. The heterodimeric Hypoxia-Inducible Factor (HIF) transcription factors are the master regulators of this response.
