Identification of problems when using long high voltage AC cable in transmission system II: Resonance & harmonic resonance

Abstract: Within European countries, Denmark was been at the forefront of replacing the transmission lines with cables. The project was supplying the power to the greater Copenhagen area in early 1990s. Recently, the Danish TSO Energinet.dk has initiated a research project for analyzing the HV underground cable in transmission system. The objective of this paper and the companion paper is to address the most important problems expected in transmission system with relatively larger share of long HV underground cables. Th… Show more

“…При расчете режима резонанса токов авторы [18] предлагают учитывать полную проводимость всех элементов резонансного контура. Под выражением Zsys=Rsys+jXsys они понимают активные и индуктивные сопротивления элементов, входящих в систему электроснабжения.…”

“…When calculating the currents resonance mode, the authors of [18] propose to take into account the total conductivity of all elements of the resonant circuit. By the expression sys sys sys Z R jX = + they mean the active and inductive resistances of the elements included in the power supply system.…”

“…Lack of sufficient damping leads to very sharp resonance characteristics; this means that even small changes in the offshore grid switching configuration potentially have a significant impact on the harmonic performance. Previous work in [1–3] has presented important issues with respect to harmonics and resonances within wind power plants.…”
